Faux dichroic Glass effects with Jewel Enamels and Fusible Film
Jewel Enamels and Fusible Film combine to create fabulous faux dichroic glass effects. I first demonstrated this technique on Jewellery Maker TV, but as many people missed the show, I thought you might like to see how to do it. Please don’t expect top notch quality video this time, it was just me in my studio doing something quickly in response to a request.
More videos are under way for Friendly Plastic and Jewel Enamels, which I will be stocking in the very near future, along with Fusible Film. Particularly as they both work well with FP.

Thank you so much for doing this Liz – I saw the demo on the Jewellery TV channeland made some notes on this technique, but I cannot decipher my shorthand now!!! I ordered the kit as I have a fusible fibres challenge coming up soon and now I can create!!!!
Thank you Lizzie,
I’ve never seen this done before. I particularly liked the opening shots where you showed some jewellery that was partially filled with this “glass”. I’d love to know how you did that.
I assume you can work without a mold/mould for the above somehow.
Suella.
You can do fantastic things with fusible fibres like Angelina and Crystalina with Jewel Enamels too. I am working on some new videos using the Fusible Film with FP too.
Moulds are really handy for this take on Faux Dichroic glass, but you can make your own moulds with something like Easymold (http://www.rarebird.ltd.uk/modelling.html) if you prefer. An alternative is to use Bezels, then you put the black in first and the clear in last, and you don’t need to squish anything, just take care not to overfill.
