Seeking Va Va Voom!

It has not been the best of times recently – the magic little pills appear to work at a very slow pace indeed and I am not back to my normal self yet (don’t ask what normal is!), I am still completely out of va va voom; hence the silence on the blogging front – sorry about that.   Consequently I have not been able to do anything in the least bit creative so my hoped for “share” mentioned in my last post will have to wait a tad longer until my creativity manages to resurface along with the energy levels.

However I do have a couple of things to tell you about.  Firstly I hope that lots of you will be coming to the NEC this week for the combined shows – Hobbycraft, Fashion Embroidery and Stitch, and Sewing For Pleasure.  One ticket gets you  in to all three shows, and it runs from 9.30 to 5.30 Thursday 24th March through to Sunday 27th (show closes at 5 on Sunday).  I will have some Friendly Plastic masks on display on the DOT stand ZP21.  DOT (Designs On Textiles) is the computer based group that I work with, and the display is selected works from our recent exhibition Consequences which we held at the Millgate Museum in Newark.

Some of my textile work will also be on show on the NOLITEX stand ZG07.  We are bringing some of our touring exhibition TideLine to the NEC, and the work I have submitted for that is shown below.  However, due to hanging restrictions I cannot guarantee that all of it will be there, particularly as my work is really not at all easy to hang!

This is my 6.5m long necklace.  Yes I do mean metres.

This is a 2.5m tall mobile

This is a regular .75m tall – pretty small in the scale of my work for the exhibition.

For keen followers of the blog, you will remember that I have shown you these things before, but now is your chance to see them for real if you come to the show.  Due to my imperfect health at the moment I will not now be stewarding except for a bit on Sunday, otherwise I would have loved to say hello to as many people as possible.

The second thing I wanted to tell you is that I have (and please don’t faint!), another date for Friendly Plastic on Create and Craft TV – 5th April.  I will hopefully be able to tell you more as we get closer. I don’t want to make a big tantarah over it, just in case it fails to materialise again.  Fingers crossed all will be well and everything will be back on track again.
